About Me

Hello, and welcome to my website!

My name is Ingo Nosske, and I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Munich (Germany). I studied physics in Munich and Heidelberg, first focusing on astrophysics and later on atomic, molecular and optical physics. In between I went to Hangzhou for one year to obtain a degree in China Studies, where I specialized on the history of scientific exchange between China and Europe in the early modern period.

In 2014-2018 I did my PhD studies in a lab dealing with ultracold atoms in highly excited electronic states in Shanghai. After a short research stay in New Delhi (India), I moved to Braunschweig (Germany), where I am now working on an atomic clock with the aim to accurately measure the slowing of time induced by Earth's mass, a consequence of the General Theory of Relativity.

I am interested in history in all its facets since a long time. This website is the outcome, and I hope that some people will find some parts of it interesting and meaningful. If you would like to get in touch with me, for example regarding the content of this website, then do not hesitate to contact me, for example via:   ingo.nosske@universalhistory.info
